Faster transaction entry
I enter amount, subcategory, description (payee)..
That means too many steps:
1- new transaction
2- enter amount
3- click category
4- choose main category
5- choose subcategory
6- click "advanced"
7- right the payee in the description
8- go back
9- save
The process can be much faster to have the transaction similar to "money by jumsoft" app
1- new transaction
2- enter category (category list appears first)
3- enter payee (the list appears after choosing category)
4- enter amount
5- save
So it's almost half the steps
We already have Quick Entry, Advanced Widget, MoneyCoach Shortcuts and Siri Shortcuts which you can use to add a transaction. Even the normal way can be fast if you have a favorite account and category selected.

Hey Hua,
We already have Shortcuts in MoneyCoach as in both manual shortcuts where you create a shortcut based on a transaction you already have in the app and Siri Shortcuts where you can add a transaction via voice.
On top of all that we have Quick Entry where you can literally add a transaction in less than 2 seconds.
Download and take a look at the app

Take a look at the app MoneyControl
you can create templates for entries, where description, category, person, account and everything can be preset by you, the next time you want to make an entry for let's say groceries
1. you just tap on the template for groceries, you may adjust the amount or leave the preset one
2. tap ok and you're done
That convenient feature keeps me from switching to MoneyCoach because I would stop using the app if it is too cumbersome to make an entry. -

The quick entry they have is awesome and I almost always use that method when I’m out and about HOWEVER it needs to allow me to enter a description since I prefer to add a short text about the metrics behind that spending. Currently I just enter “ 5 drinks cash” which automatically says to the app I spent $5 applies to the drinks category taken from my cash account. If I could get a description in there would be awesome.

In my opinion Next, by noidentity, is THE PERFECT app when it comes to inputting expenses.
1 - choose category
2 - type the amount
3 - tap SaveThat’s it.
Since MoneyCoach does not support banking sync, it should REALLY focus on making input of expenses as effortless as possible. Next did this in a brilliant way. The main screen of the app was the input one, the reports, graphs and everything else was secondary. That’s how MoneyCoach should handle this as well. -

I’m a former MoneyBook user and annoyed by this as well. Simple displaying a subset of recently used categories in the new transaction window would save a lot of steps :)

Transaction entry is already fast. You just need to make the category and account a slideable option, not a new window.
